Trailer Watch: Cloud Atlas domestic trailer

A little over a month after the five minute international trailer for Cloud Atlas hit the web, we now have a domestic trailer, which gives you the barest details of the plot(s) and showcases a few of the film’s stars. The film (like the novel) weaves together six separate-yet-connected stories: a 19th century sea expedition, 1930s Belgium, 1970s California, present day London, a dystopian future Korea, and a post-apocalyptic Hawaii.

Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, Bae Doona, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, Keith David, James D’Arcy and Hugo Weaving star in the October 26th release. Andy and Lana Wachowski & Tom Tykwer co-wrote and co-directed the film.

Trailer Watch: Lawless red band trailer

The new, red band trailer for Lawless is out, and it still looks pretty damned good.

Director John Hillcoat’s follow-up to The Road stars Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman and Mia Wasikowska. Nick Cave (The Proposition) adapted the screenplay from the novel “The Wettest County in the World” by Matt Bondurant. The film hits theaters on August 29.

Trailer Watch: RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists red band trailer

RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists has a red band trailer out, and I’m guessing if you’ve seen the first trailer, this isn’t going to change your opinion of it.

The plot is… hahaha, who cares? Just watch the trailer.

Russell Crowe, RZA, Lucy Liu, Rick Yune, Jamie Chung, Cung Le, Dave Bautista, Byron Mann, Daniel Wu, and Pam Grier star in RZA’s directorial debut, which he co-wrote with Eli Roth (Hostel). Catch it in theaters on November 2, 2012.

Trailer Watch: Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson, Chris Pratt and more in 10 Years

After his fantastically funny turn 21 Jump Street, I was hoping to see Channing Tatum do more comedy, and the trailer for 10 Years looks like it will be pretty funny — but I was surprised that it seems to have a little depth, too, not to mention a really strong supporting cast.

You can get the gist of the story from the trailer, of course, or read the official synopsis:

Jake (Channing Tatum) is deeply in love with his girlfriend (Jenna Dewan-Tatum, his real-life wife and Step Up co-lead), ready to propose – until he runs into his high school flame (Rosario Dawson) for the first time in ten years. Jake’s friend Cully (Chris Pratt) married his cheerleader girlfriend, and has been looking forward to the reunion so he can finally apologize to all the classmates he bullied in high school. However, after a few too many drinks, the jock-turned-family man ends up reverting back to his old ways instead. Meanwhile, longtime rivals Marty and A.J (Justin Long and Max Minghella) spend the night still trying to one-up each other to impress the coolest girl in class (Lynn Collins), who now has a secret. The famous one of the group, Reeves (Drive‘s Oscar Isaac), is now a well-known musician, but is still too shy to talk to the high school crush (Kate Mara) who inspired his one hit wonder.

10 Years was written and directed by Jamie Linden (We Are Marshall). Aubrey Plaza, Scott Porter, Brian Geraghty, Aaron Yoo, Eiko Nijo and Nick Zano round out the cast. The film is out in theaters on September 14, 2012.
