Singer has gone back to the X-Well with X-Men: Days of Future Past, which comes out on May 23, 2014. Reuniting a ton of X-Men cast and the X-Men: First Class cast, the film is intended (in part) to fix some of the continuity fuck-ups of the series — I’m looking at you, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: The Last Stand, and while it could just be that I’m a sucker for the Sunshine soundtrack, which underscores most of this trailer, I think this looks pretty solid.
So now it’s Wolverine that’s sent into the past rather than Kitty Pride (because of course only f***ing Wolverine can be the protagonist of an X-Men movie these days) but instead of coming from the future to the present he’s going from the present to the past. Funny, I don’t remember giant killer robots stalking the world in the present…
None of this matters if it’s a good movie.
Let go of the idea that adaptations need to be faithful to the source. Ever. If you want it exactly like the original story, reread the original story.
Exactly like the original story … of course not.
Bearing some fleeting resemblance beyond the title to the original story … would be nice.
I find the character of Wolverine not only overrated, but antithetical to the “whole is greater than the sum of its parts” idea that a team story like X-Men can achieve, rather than being “Wolverine and some other guys”.
Surface of the sun is the Kashmir of the 21st century… (not complaining either!)
Yep, I’m excited. I hope it’s good.
Am I the only one who though the title was a Joke when I heard of it? It sounds like something a Parody would make up.
You don’t read X-Men comics, I assume? It’s the name of a classic arc from the 80s.
No, I never really got into reading Paper comics, since I was never introduced to them until I was older and by then the wonders of Webcomics were abound. From what you guys have said though, it looks to be an interesting movie.
