    My thought process watching this.
“Oh hey, this looks pretty cool, I like the cast, but after Pacific Rim’s awesomeness, can this really-”
    *Godzilla scream*

    Can’t wait.

If there is anything great about this trailer, its the atmosphere. As much as I love the campy giant monster fights of later Godzilla movies, I knida missed the days where the main focus was trying to fight the literal incarnation of a walking nuclear bomb. Also, the design on the reigning King Of Monsters looks perfect.

Until I see some atomic breath, I still won’t be convinced it’s *truly* Godzilla!
(The 2001: A Space Odyssey chorus is a nice touch, though.)

That’s fair, but according to some fan sites, toy packaging related to the new film has mentioned atomic breath, so I think you’ll be happy. :)

Trailers like this make me wish there was a way- or at least a website devoted- to sharing and discovering trailers easily without knowing what they’re about. They’d be sorted by genre or the people involved, but you wouldn’t know this was a Godzilla trailer until the reveal. You can kinda do it with Youtube when sharing with friends, like, at least.

I just live for that reveal moment. Cloverfield was clever about it, at least, changing the first “roar” scene to mess with audiences on release.
