Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Godzilla returns to theaters courtesy director Gareth Edwards (and Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures) on May 16, 2014.
My thought process watching this.
“Oh hey, this looks pretty cool, I like the cast, but after Pacific Rim’s awesomeness, can this really-”
*Godzilla scream*
“THIS IS GOING TO BE THE GREATEST THING EVER”
Can’t wait.
If there is anything great about this trailer, its the atmosphere. As much as I love the campy giant monster fights of later Godzilla movies, I knida missed the days where the main focus was trying to fight the literal incarnation of a walking nuclear bomb. Also, the design on the reigning King Of Monsters looks perfect.
Word has it that there is still at least one monster fight!
Until I see some atomic breath, I still won’t be convinced it’s *truly* Godzilla!
(The 2001: A Space Odyssey chorus is a nice touch, though.)
That’s fair, but according to some fan sites, toy packaging related to the new film has mentioned atomic breath, so I think you’ll be happy. :)
Trailers like this make me wish there was a way- or at least a website devoted- to sharing and discovering trailers easily without knowing what they’re about. They’d be sorted by genre or the people involved, but you wouldn’t know this was a Godzilla trailer until the reveal. You can kinda do it with Youtube when sharing with friends, like http://www.youtube.com/v/QjKO10hKtYw&showinfo=0&hd=1&autoplay=1, at least.
I just live for that reveal moment. Cloverfield was clever about it, at least, changing the first “roar” scene to mess with audiences on release.
They have that. It’s called the movie theater. :)
