Multiplex Movie Review comics (starring Jason)

Jason explains everything you need to know about this bonus comic in the strip itself:

Other films reviewed to date are The Addams Family movies, The Lives of Others, Rubber, Get Real, and Transformers: The Movie. Some of them are kinda funny, some of them are actually serious, but they’re all fun, I hope. Anyway, they were available to Kickstarter backers, of course, and now also my Patreon patrons in the Activity Stream — and since I enjoyed doing them, I going to keep doing them as exclusive Patreon bonus comics from time to time (and, yes, Kurt will get to do a review now and then, too).

So consider this a sneak preview of being a Patreon patron! Support Multiplex via Patreon to read the rest in the patrons-only Activity Stream — and whether or not you’re already a patron, there’s a movie you’d like to see Jason review, let me know here!

They PRE-ORDERED Multiplex: There and Back Again (Book Two). What happened next blew their frickin’ minds.

(They got copies of it in the mail.)

Multiplex: There and Back Again final cover

Anyway, yep: it’s time. Surly film snob Jason, his horror buff BFF Kurt, and the rest of the staff of the Multiplex 10 Cinemas return in the second print collection of your favorite movie-themed webcomic, Multiplex. In this volume, we meet the Multiplex 10’s archnemeses, the staff of Flickhead Video, and Jason & Devi’s relationship hits the rocks.

Multiplex: There and Back Again collects strips #103–216 from the archives, plus over 20 bonus comics — and it is now available for PRE-ORDER from the Multiplex Store!

Book Two officially goes on sale on March 15, 2014. Order your copy now to make sure it’s shipped in the week of March 17th!

AND THAT’S NOT ALL. NOPE. The “This Isn’t Your Living Room” workplace poster featuring Jason is also available — also as a pre-order — and shipping alongside Book Two. The 18″x24″ poster is $10, and it is fucking awesome.

The Return of the Triple Feature!

The_Triple_Feature

The Triple Feature, the late, lamented podcast I co-hosted with Theater Hopper’s Tom Brazelton and Joe Loves Crappy Movies’s Joe Dunn is coming back for a one-time special video episode. That’s right — this time, you will get to see our pretty faces, too!

On January 26th at 9pm Central, Tom, Joe, and myself will be Google+ Hanging Out to discuss a triple threat of topics: Jack Reacher (the Christopher McQuarrie Tom Cruise flick), the first few episodes of Helix (the new sci-fi series from Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore), and Slayground (the fourth and latest in Darwyn Cooke’s series of comics adaptations of the Parker novels)! It should be a lot of fun.

In order to be able to “call in” (ask questions during the show either in the group chat or possibly even join us on screen), you must be one of my Patreon backers at the $10 level or higher. Those of you who are eligible will receive invites before the show starts. But I will be making the video available to watch on YouTube after the fact.

First Patreon milestone goal reached! And a word about Book 2!

The first milestone goal in the Patreon project has been reached!

Because funds are collected at the beginning of the month, the leaderboard ad will be disappearing for the month of February… and hopefully for every month thereafter (assuming nobody cancels, of course)! In the meantime, of course, more patrons are welcome. I’m totally excited that we’re raising as many as we are, and I’d be perfectly happy if we don’t raise much more than what we have right now — but would love for the site to be completely ad-free!

In the patrons-only Activity Stream, so far there are a handful of comics that only Book 2 (Kickstarter/PayPal) backers and Patreon patrons can read, with Jason reviewing a handful of movies. There will be more stuff soon, too — sketches, more review comics, and the first Google Hangout!

Thank you VERY MUCH to everybody who has signed on to support the strip so far!

Speaking of Book 2, I understand that the Multiplex: There and Back Again shipment will be arriving sooner than I had expected, and I will get the pre-orders for the book opened up in the next few weeks. I want to get the Kickstarter books and rewards out the door before I can add to my to-do pile, because it has already been so delayed. (Sorry! And thank you again, for your patience!)
