Trailer Watch: The Theory of Everything trailer

There’s no telling how the film will turn out, but the trailer for The Theory of Everything impressed me by having a respectably balanced focus on both the life of Stephen Hawking (and relationship with his first wife) and the work he is so admired for, unlike so many other film biographies of so-called Great Men.

James Marsh (Man on Wire) directs Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones in the November 7th release.

Trailer Watch: Gone Girl trailer #2

The second trailer for David Fincher’s Gone Girl is pretty damned great:

Somerville Theatre Midnight Specials film series

Patreon backers got an early look at this, but one of the freelance projects I’ve done recently is movie-themed, and I wanted to share it with you. It’s a poster for the Somerville Theatre’s upcoming Midnight Specials film series. (In Somerville, Mass.)

So if you’re in that area, definitely check out this film series starting later this month. And if you’re not, just dig on this poster I made for them. It was a hell of a lot of fun to do:

If you’d like to buy one of these, the theater — not me — is planning to sell 11″x17″ posters for $14 and 24″x36″ posters for $30. (These are short, custom print runs, hence the premium cost.) Postage is included (for those of you hailing from the United States). Contact Ian Judge of FEI Theatres (ijudge at feitheatres.com) for more information!

And if you’re a theater manager interested in commissioning something like this for your theater, definitely shoot me an e-mail! (The “Contact Gordon” link in the footer is your friend.)
