Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill star in Capote director Bennett Miller’s somewhat fictionalized, big-screen adaptation of Michael Lewis’s book, Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. Brad Pitt is a solid enough actor when he’s given a good script to work from, and here, the words coming from his mouth are provided by Steve Zaillian (Searching for Bobby Fischer, David Fincher’s upcoming Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), with a rewrite (or two or three) from Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, West Wing) — so, it could be good.
Moneyball opens on September 23.
I saw this trailer earlier today, and have yet to make a definite opinion about it. Its enjoyable, but I may need more trailer or info to make a final decision on “watch” or “don’t watch”
OMFG, YES! As a lifelong fan of the Oakland A’s, and as someone who made it to a lot of games the season this is based on, including that 20th Win… They already have my money.
I’m surprised but, I think I really want to see this. It looks like Pitt’s performance will be nicely subtle. He’s starting to act his age and I think it will serve him well for the rest of his career.
