Multiplex #122 1/2: Hot Off the Press

Because of Multipacked! (the Shortpacked!/Multiplex crossover) pushing Monday’s regularly-scheduled strip to Tuesday, there would have been no new Multiplex on Monday for the first time in a very long time. That just would not do.

So for the long-time readers of Multiplex, here’s a strip from the upcoming Chapter 7 (Book 2) eBook, set after #122 in the archives — although it’s really more just one of the many bonus strips for the collected editions about bolstering Gretchen’s presence earlier in Book 2 so that her prominence later in the book feels more congruous, when read in the planned printed collection:

#122 1/2: Hot Off the Press

If you’re shocked and amazed by the three updates last week and four strips this week, the reason that’s possible is that I’ve had a bit of free time this week, as I’m in-between paying freelance gigs. (This despite getting a bunch headaches that forced me to keep off the computer. I’m pretty sure they’re eye strain related, and am seeing a doctor on Monday about that and other general things. I’m sure she’ll just tell me to stop surfing the internet on the new smartphone and exercise more.)

Anyway, this lack of freelance work also means I don’t have any money coming in, which makes things a little, um, difficult. So if you’re thrilled about the extra strips this week, don’t want me to starve to death, or just have a few dollars burning a hole in your pocket, please consider buying something from the Store (or Amazon, for that matter), advertising on the Multiplex site via Project Wonderful, or even donating to Multiplex via PayPal:

Multiplex #655 is running late…

A last-minute-ish production assistant gig on a video shoot (for a web promotion I’m not sure I’m at liberty to discuss at this point) ate into my evenings for the last couple of nights, so Thursday’s Multiplex will be late, I’m afraid. Hopefully it’ll post on Thursday night, but… you know how things go. I only post this because I’d hate for anyone to start thinking that I’m going to make a habit of blowing my update schedule. :(

Anyway. If you’d like something to tide you over ’til then, please check out this a recent hand-drawn illustration I did for ReviverSoft that I thought turned out rather well. I did the portrait of guest blogger Rantz Hoseley also, but I mean the one farther down the page.

(If you didn’t know, I do illustrations for ReviverSoft’s computer tips blog now and then to help pay mah billz. If you’re of the Windows persuasion or you’d just like to occasionally see drawings by me that pertain to computers, subscribe to their RSS feed! And if you have a blog or podcast or website of your own that you’d like to fancy up by commissioning graphics or illustrations for it by me, feel free to shoot me an e-mail — especially if your site has anything to do with comics or movies! Because they’re awesome.)

Multiplex #648: Mortal Combat, Part 1 inks

Most of you have read this comic already, but here are the inks for the strip posted on Thursday (which is still not done):

Multiplex: Book 2 begins here! The Chapter 6 eBook is now available.

The Multiplex: Chapter 6 eBook, is now available for in the Multiplex Store! This 34 page PDF format eBook is perfect for reading on an iPad or any other tablet. (A PDF reader is required.)

Chapter 6 collects strips #103–121 from the Multiplex archives, plus six bonus comics (a few of which first appeared at the Deleted Scenes blog) and two extended scenes — all for only $1.49! Highlights include the Blogger becoming the Multiplex 10’s new Santa and the introduction of our gang’s archenemies: the staff of Flickhead Video.

As I’ve mentioned before, if you’re one of those Multiplex fans eager to see the Book 2 print collection come out sooner or later, you can speed up the production of Book 2 by getting the Multiplex eBooks — and you won’t be spoiling the printed book completely, since — like Multiplex: Enjoy Your Show (Book 1) — there will be even more bonus comics exclusive to the printed collection. (Unlike Book 1, however, the exclusive comics in Book 2 won’t be a single story, but several regular-length strips spread throughout the collection.)

Think of each eBook as a mini-Kickstarter for the creation of Multiplex: Book 2.
