There’s some overlap in these two trailers for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, but so, so many great moments (only some of which are rehashes of jokes from the first one). Hopefully they won’t be the only great ones…
This shit hits the fan on December 20, 2013, naturally. I mean, obviously, they’re gunning for some Oscars here.

While Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore are two favorites of mine, Anderson’s films since (yes, including Fantastic Mr. Fox and especially The Life Aquatic) have fallen very flat for me. Moonrise Kingdom was a step back in the right direction, but still lacked any of the emotion from Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore.
So while this first (international) trailer for The Grand Budapest Hotel looks entertaining enough, I’m a bit wary. The film hits US theaters on March 7, though; I think I’ll need to check out some reviews before I’m on board, but I know some of you will be super excited.
You seem to get an awful lot of the story in the trailer, so I think I can skip the plot description this time…

This first film adaptation of a David Sedaris story stars Jonathan Groff as Sedaris, “a young man who plans a summer in the Northwest with his friend Jennifer (Troian Bellisario), working on a farm. But when Jennifer unexpectedly bails on him, David is left to dirty his hands alone and jump into a series of misadventures that will take him to unfamiliar — and hilariously uncomfortable — places.”
The dialogue sounds smart, and the depiction of the yokels looks like it’s steering clear of both making fun of cliché dumb hicks and mythologizing rural America. The film is out now in (very) limited release; no idea when or if it will expand.

A teaser for Muppets Most Wanted has made its way to the interwebs. Starring Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey opposite the usual gang of Muppets, the film. Not that you get any of that from this teaser.
The script is by Nicholas Stoller (who co-wrote The Muppets) and The Muppets director James Bobin (who returns as director, as well), but it feels pretty different from the last film, perhaps because Jason Segel isn’t involved this time, but perhaps just because they’re actually on the set of, y’know… a Muppet Show.
Anyway, it comes out in March, 2014.
